David Jones’s second collection of prose writings published posthumously in 1978 explores his deep connection to Wales through its culture, symbolism and the notion of heroic defeat. Edited by Harman Grisewood, who also offers an introduction, some of the fifteen writings deal with the relationship of visual art in England and Wales with war. Also included is a useful name index.
