Rhoddir sylw i berfformwyr wrth iddynt amlygu eu hunain ar lwyfan y Theatr Gymraeg. Cyflwynir dadansoddiad craff o ddatblygiad crefft perfformio o gyfnod defodau cyntefig, campau’r cyfarwydd ac adloniant gwerinol yr anterliwt hyd at y perfformiwr yn y pulpud, y perfformiwr amatur a’r ymdrechion i sefydlu theatr mwy soffistigedig a phroffesiynol.
Attention is paid to the performer as revealed in various modes on the Welsh stage through our history. The author presents a keen analysis of the development of the art of performance from primitive rites, the storyteller’s feats and folk entertainment to the pulpit and amateur performer, and to the efforts to establish a more sophisticated and professional theatr.
