In the 1960s the Llangyndeyrn area of Carmarthenshire was under threat of drowning in order to create a reservoir to supply Swansea with water. Following widespread protest the plans were eventually defeated. The story is worth recalling, especially in light of the positive outcome, in contrast to the fate which befell Tryweryn.

Cafwyd protestio brwd ac, yn y pen draw, llwyddwyd i oresgyn y bygythiad.
