A murder mystery set in the period after the Second World War. Dela Arthur is the headmistress of the small primary school at Nant yr Eithin village. She’s a colourful character, and the story’s detective. The novel opens on the day of the school trip for the older pupils, when the school bus falls into a deep ditch, endangering the lives of everybody.
