Caerwyn
Caerwyn was born in the village of Cynwyd, Merioneth, in 1871. He was a journalist and editor, critic, poet, librarian, counsellor, lay preacher, lecturer and broadcaster, registrar, custodian of electoral rolls and a translator in court cases. He is best known as an Esiteddfod compere, having acted as master of ceremonies at the National Eisteddfod without a break between 1924 and 1949.

Ganwyd Caerwyn ym mhentref Cynwyd, Meirionnydd, yn 1871. Bu’n newyddiadurwr a golygydd, yn feirniad, bardd, llyfrgellydd, cynghorydd, pregethwr cynorthwyol, darlithydd a darlledwr, cofrestrydd, ceidwad rhestrau etholwyr ac yn gyfieithydd llysoedd barn.
