Yng nghanol adladd rhyfeloedd crefyddol dinistriol, caiff Duw ei wahardd. Cyrhaedda merch ifanc – Jem – bentref anghysbell Underhill, gan gyhoeddi, nid yn unig bod Duw yn bod ond ei bod hi wedi’i hanfon i gyflwyno neges apocalyptaidd. Mae’r pentrefwyr sy’n grediniol bod Jem yn dweud celwydd, yn gwylio mewn braw wrth i eraill o’u plith dyrru i ymuno â’r grefydd newydd God’s Threads.
In the aftermath of catastrophic religious wars, God has been banned. A young woman – Jem – arrives in the isolated village of Underhill, announcing that not only does God exist, but It has sent her to deliver an apocalyptic message. Some of the villagers, convinced Jem is lying, watch in horror as others flock to join the new God’s Threads religion.
