Robert Owen, brilliant pilot and flying instructor has taken a new job at the flying school at Best in the south of England. Flying has never seemed so alluring and terrifying. Human frailty is test ed in the drilling and repetition of hours in flight, and Robert’s skills as a pilot and in diplomacy with pupils is tested to the limits. He then falls in love, risking heart and body in the air.
