Uncle Tom at War – From Penmachno to Prison Camp
The story of Thomas Williams, born in Penmachno, Gwynedd, who worked as a tailor until he joined the Liverpool Scottish Regiment in November 1915. He was injured in France, and spent time in hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne before returning to the front in November 1917. Tom was shot and captured, and ended up in a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany.
