Sarah has a life threatening disease and decides to take a holiday, potentially her last, to revisit old friends and lovers in Ulster and finds herself in the midst of a country on the brink of guerrilla war. One of the first novels confronting the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland, it also reflects the movement towards sexual freedom of the late 1960s.
