Mewn breuddwyd yn nechrau’r 1890au cafodd ‘Pabydd’ y chwedl hon olwg ar Gymru 2012. Cymru yw hi wedi ennill ymreolaeth ac wedi colli ei chrefydd Brotestannaidd. Dyfais Emrys ap Iwan yw newid golygwedd neu berspectif, fel bod Cymry ei oes yn eu gweld eu hunain o’r newydd ac yn gofyn cwestiynau amdanynt eu hunain.
In a dream at the beginning of the 1890s, the ‘Pabydd’ in this tale had a vision of the Wales of 2012. It is a Wales that has achievedindependence and has lost her Protestant religion. Emrys ap Iwan changes perspective as a device which encouraged Welsh people of his time to see themselves in a new light, and to ask questions about themselves.
